For regular customers, returns can be made within 5 business days from the date of receiving the title.
For Bookstores, Wholesalers, Retailers and Vendors the limit is 90 business days from purchase of the title. All books must be returned in its original condition and must have the original dated receipt of purchase.
If a title is returned within 90 days of purchase, the publisher shall label the book as a remainder and put the following title back on the market but at a reduced cost as appropriate to the publisher.
All remainder copies shall be identified with a black line on the bottom of the pages of the book.
Readers First follows the below noted industry standards for determining what is an acceptable return. Readers First reserves the right to send back to the customer at his or her expense all products returned in an unsalable condition.
Conditions of Importance
- All titles exclusively sold by PDMI shall not be returned to the publisher if the cover is stripped from the book.
- All title must be returned in their original condition.
- A ten (10%) percent fee will be applied to all returning titles to restock it.
- An original Dated Receipt of Purchase must accompany your returns.
- Customers are responsible for return freight costs.
- Must Include: Quantity returned for each title and total quantity returned, Title, ISBN or title code, list price, Ship-to name, account number, and address.
- Spine separated from hardback book (unless claimed to be defective)
- Cover torn from book, mass market paperback received without cover
- Missing parts (toys, etc.), missing diskette (software), missing book from set
- Water damage
- Books written in/on, Pages extremely dirty, knife cuts and/or gouges into hardbacks
Hassle-Free returns will be accepted if product is damaged, defective, or incorrectly shipped. Customers may use the hassle-free form located on the back of each packing slip or contact customer service for a pre-paid call tag. Discrepancies must be reported within 30 days from the packing list date. Products with publisher defects (i.e., missing pages, etc.) may be returned at any time.
